Orthodontic treatment can be provided at any age. Whether you are a parent with a child needing treatment or an adult seeking a new smile, we are here to help.
As specialists in orthodontics we have considerable experience and expertise in treating children and teenagers. Every child should have an orthodontic assessment around 8-to-9 years of age. Although most treatments are best provided in the early teenage years, there are certain developmental abnormalities in tooth position or bite relationship that your orthodontist could correct at an early age with a relatively simple course of orthodontic treatment.
Sometimes this treatment may involve a short course of fixed appliances or removable appliance therapy such as Invisalign. Often patients will still require further treatment in their teenage years, but this type of early treatment can prevent the need for complex treatment in later years.
In addition, an assessment at 8-to-9-years-old is a useful time to screen for the development of the new permanent teeth as certain indicators can help an orthodontist to determine if your child may require treatment in the future.
Orthodontics is more than just straight teeth. We have considerable experience and expertise in treating children and teenagers and managing the developing jaws and teeth. There is nothing more satisfying as an orthodontist than to see a shy young child develop into a confident young person after treatment.
In children, managing the shape and development of the jaw structure can be vitally important in helping to develop the ideal facial and dental aesthetics. Many children have discrepancies of the jaw that can be improved with functional braces to help achieve a more balanced facial profile.
Whether you are a busy career woman or a mother, there are a range of discreet and cosmetic treatments available. We also offer a special service for brides-to-be to help them achieve that dream smile in time for their special day.
We also offer a special mother and child package for those mothers who have an orthodontic need and wish to share in the experience with their child.
Our orthodontists are very gentle and you can rest assured you will be in safe hands throughout your treatment.
More and more men are recognising the importance and value of orthodontic treatment. Whether you are a busy executive, sportsman, doctor or electrician; these are but a few of the types of men that come to see us.
As specialists in orthodontics, you can be sure your financial investment in your smile is in safe, experienced and expert hands. Our specialists have undergone several years of postgraduate training approved by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and registered on the General Dental Council specialist list.
It’s never too late to have orthodontics and treatment can be provided at any age. Provided the general dental condition is sound there is no reason why older patients cannot have orthodontic treatment.
We often see older patients in our clinic, not just those that are looking for cosmetic improvement of their teeth. Some patients seek out orthodontic care as part of an overall dental healthcare plan.
For example, sometimes after a tooth has been lost, its replacement may ideally involve a dental implant; however, teeth may need to be repositioned to help create a more ideal environment for the dental implant. Other patients experience drifting of their teeth after a period of active gum disease leading to unsightly spacing which can be easily reduced with orthodontic treatment.
Whether you have a nervous child or if you are an anxious patient yourself, we recognise that fear of dental treatment can sometimes be overwhelming for some patients, perhaps because of a past experience. We have experience helping anxious patients to achieve what you thought would not be possible, so don’t let your fear hold you back, we are here to help you.
You can be assured that our orthodontists will give you the time, reassurance, and explanation of the whole process and will talk you through the orthodontic journey. We also have excellent nurses who are more than happy to help put you at ease.
Come and see us for a no-obligation initial meeting with our Treatment Co-ordinator to discuss your options.
