Meet your dental hygienist

Our skilled dental hygienists work alongside our specialist orthodontic team to ensure your oral health remains in optimal condition throughout your treatment journey.

With a focus on preventative care and education, our hygienists provide thorough cleaning, personalised oral hygiene advice, and guidance tailored to your specific orthodontic appliance. They form an essential part of our comprehensive approach to creating your perfect smile at both our Mill Hill and Wimpole Street practices.

About our specialist orthodontist, Dr Qureshi

Dr Usman Qureshi qualified as a dentist in 2001 from the University of Manchester and he completed his Masters in Orthodontics at The Royal London Dental Institute in 2007. He subsequently gained his specialist qualifications with the Royal College of Surgeons, England.

Training to become an orthodontist in the UK not only involved 12 years of extensive study and research but also clinical experience through managing the more complex orthodontic problems in a hospital environment. After qualification he entered into specialist orthodontic practice and following extensive time in both the NHS and Private sector he established his private practice in London in 2011. He has treated over 5000 orthodotnic patients in his career and has extensive experience in all aspects of orthodontic care.

Frequently asked questions about direct access dental hygiene

How can dental hygiene treatments support my orthodontic journey?

Regular cleaning is essential during orthodontic treatment to prevent plaque buildup around your braces or aligners. Our hygienist in Mill Hill or Marylebone will ensure your teeth and gums stay healthy throughout your treatment.

Why should I choose professional hygiene over just brushing at home?

While brushing at home is important, professional hygiene removes plaque and tartar buildup that you can't eliminate with a toothbrush alone. Book a session in Mill Hill or Marylebone to give your teeth a thorough, professional clean.

Is it safe to get a cleaning if I have sensitive teeth or gums?

Absolutely! Our hygienist is skilled at working with sensitive teeth and gums. We will adjust the cleaning process to your comfort level and help address any concerns, ensuring your oral health is in safe hands.

Are there any risks to getting a professional cleaning?

Professional cleaning is generally very safe. Our skilled hygienists in Mill Hill and Marylebone use the latest techniques to ensure that your gums and teeth are thoroughly cleaned without any discomfort or risk.

Do I need to see a dentist before visiting the hygienist?

No, you can book an appointment directly with our hygienist in London. A clean and polish from our team can help maintain your oral health, even if you’re not seeing a dentist for any specific treatment.

How long does a dental hygiene session take?

On average, a dental hygiene appointment lasts around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the condition of your teeth and gums. We make sure the time is spent efficiently to provide you with a thorough cleaning and a fresh, polished finish.
